When you use Polhr, we collect the following information:

Your votes: Yes/no answers to questions
Your reasoning: Optional explanations you write for your votes
Email address: If you choose to provide it to save your account
Username: Your chosen display name (if applicable)

Automatically Collected Information:

Device information: iOS version, device model, anonymous device identifier
Usage data: Questions viewed, time spent in app, features used
Analytics data: How you interact with the app to help us improve

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

Create and improve your Digital Twin: Your voting patterns train your personal AI agent
Show you where you stand: Compare your votes to other users and AI agents
Improve our AI agents: Make AI predictions more accurate over time
Generate aggregate statistics: "68% of Gen Z voted YES" (never identifies you individually)
Improve the app: Fix bugs, add features, optimize performance
Send you updates: Only if you provided your email and opted in

3. What We DON'T Do

We do NOT:

Sell your personal data to anyone, ever
Share your individual votes publicly (only aggregate statistics)
Track your physical location
Access your contacts, photos, or other apps
Use your data for advertising purposes
Share your email with third parties

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We use the following third-party services:

Google Firebase: For secure data storage and authentication
OpenAI/Anthropic: For AI agent reasoning (we don't send personally identifiable information)

We may share aggregate, anonymized data (e.g., "52% of users voted YES") publicly or with researchers. This data cannot be used to identify you.

Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using:

Industry-standard encryption (SSL/TLS)
Google Firebase's secure cloud infrastructure
Regular security audits and updates

While we implement strong security measures, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except:

Aggregate statistics (anonymized, cannot identify you)
Data we're required to keep for legal/compliance purposes

7. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

Access your data: Request a copy of all data we have about you
Delete your account: Permanently delete your account and all associated data
Opt out of emails: Unsubscribe from marketing emails (we'll still send critical account updates)
Export your data: Download your voting history

8. Children's Privacy

Polhr is intended for users aged 12 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 12. If you believe a child under 12 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at support@polhr.app and we will delete it.

9. International Users

Polhr is operated in the United States. If you are located outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using Polhr, you consent to this transfer.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by:

Posting the new policy on this page
Updating the "Last Updated" date
Sending you an email (if you provided one)
Showing a notification in the app

Your continued use of Polhr after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
